Today I wanted to share a vintage quilt find. A girl friend found this little lovely for me at a local consignment store. A Sunbonnet Sue quilt. image
I just love it! It is all hand quilted with a beautiful design.

It is all completed with prairie points

To top it all off, it’s my favorite color, green!

I did finish the gift for my friend. Tonight I hopefully will finish the baby quilt.

Birthday for a Friend

Leave a comment Standard

I’m almost done! I went to the local long arm rental place to quilt this quilt for a friend of mine for her birthday. Now I need to finish the binding. There is a long car trip in my future, so I suspect that will be a perfect time for the task.

She uses a more modern color scheme in her decorating so this quilt should be right at home. I suspect she already knows about it but if not, she will now. Haha.
Next up after finishing the binding is some hand embroidery for a friendship baby quilt.

Very Bad Blogger

Comment 1 Standard

I admit it I’ve been a very bad blogger. It’s not that I haven’t been quilting, I just haven’t been telling you about it. Haha. Oh well!

I changed the tag line to more accurately reflect the true posts from me. Not daily, what was I thinking, almost daily is more like it.

Here is one project I completed while I was away from here

Valentine Mug Rug

This is one “Valentine’s Day Mug Rug” that I completed. It’s one of a set of four. I’ve mentioned before I’m a member of an online swap group and this was our project for January. Everyone sends in four that are just alike and receives four totally different ones back. I can’t wait to see what I get. :))

Hopefully later today I can post a picture of the quilt I quilted at the long arm rental place yesterday.

Ready to Quilt, Finally!

Well, with a full day off to make a last minute trip, I’m ready to quilt the Christmas quilt.   However, the crazy lady did get in the sewing room and work her magic. As I was pressing the latest seam, I discovered this….

As frequently happens, I had to fix her mistakes. However, it is finished and ready to quilt.

Perhaps tomorrow I will quilt it or maybe get something else ready to quilt. Who knows?

Christmas’ Last Hurrah

Comments 2 Standard

Let’s face it, all days do not go as planned. Also something else we should face, we need adequate sleep to function. I have decided, with experience to prove it, that 3 1/2 hours of sleep is not quite enough. However, I did manage to get a little sewing done.
I am in an online quilter’s club (let the nerd comments begin) and we each exchanged blocks before Christmas. Here is the picture of the rows sewn together. image
The strips between the rows are not sewn just yet, but hey it’s something. Hopefully tomorrow it will be ready to quilt.

One Down

Ok the bird quilt is ready to be quilted. Yay!  I rent long arm space at my local quilt shop for bigger items. I have another quilt almost ready to go will try to finish that one tomorrow. With any luck, maybe I can quilt both in the same day and someday very soon.

Here is the first UFO down

Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain. Lol. That is my darling although slightly goofy husband.

Happy Daughter’s Birthday!

I thought I might need to change my tag line to the almost daily ramblings, however, here I am. There was no Quilty action today. Instead, today is my daughter’s birthday and I have enjoyed the nonquilty things today. Today was the take the Christmas decorations down day.  They are almost all down although there are two naked trees in my house.  Lol.
We took my daughter to dinner at a very yummy restaurant and now the two old folks are in for the night. Maybe we will see the new year in but most probably not. Next year will be…well, next year.

Stay tuned…..
